Wayne Knezek Coomer, 59, of Baird died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel.

Wayne was born July 9, 1961 in Abilene to Milton and Gwynella (Frazier) Coomer. He graduated from Decatur High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army. He married Nelva (Cookie) Cook in Decatur in 2013. They moved to Clyde from Decatur in January of 2020. Wayne was a truckdriver and mechanic, working for Earth Builders in Decatur.

He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Nelva (Cookie) Coomer of Baird; two sons, Richard Coomer of Cleburne and Brandon Coomer of Boston, Massachusetts; brother Geary Coomer of Baird; two grandchildren, Bailey and Hunter Coomer.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his son Travis Coomer.
