Weldon (Glen) Atkins, 73, of Clyde died Monday, December 2, 2019, at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the Bible Baptist Church in Clyde under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery.

Glen was born July 10, 1946 in Big Spring to Walter and Verna May (Holland) White. He attended school in Big Spring. He married Linda Sue Lee Mitchell in Buffalo Gap on February 14, 1979. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1981. He worked for Abilene Mobile Homes for many years and Clyde ISD in the maintenance department for 15 years. He was a mechanic by trade, starting out working for Pete Sudbery. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

Glen is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Atkins of Clyde; two sons, Weldon Atkins of Granbury and family and Michael Atkins of Clyde and children, Joshua, Taylor, Ashton and Auston; one daughter, Glenda Atkins of Clyde and children, Michelle and Brandon; three step-children, Cheryl Fowler of Abilene and children, Trisha, Justin, Cody and Erick, Diana Fowler and husband Charlie Price of Albany and children, Dakota, Sierra and Gracie, and Tara Fowler of Merkel and children, Nathon and McKinsey; 18 ½ great grandchildren; special friend Debbie Kilpatrick; and many other relatives and friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Lyon and Edith White.
