Willard Louis Moore, 83, of Fort Worth, formerly of Clyde died Sunday, March 5, 2023, in a Fort Worth hospital. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Clyde Cemetery with James Meredith, Jr. officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fort Worth.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Jo Edwards of Fort Worth; brother, Bob Moore and wife Juanita of Clyde; sons, Willard Louis Moore, Jr. (Buddy) and wife Joy of Weatherford and Robert Moore and wife Missy of Fort Worth; daughter, Lory Moore and husband Terry Burton of Fort Worth; cherished grandchildren, Nick Moore and wife Vanessa, Randy Moore, Jo Moore, Joshua Dennis and wife Sarah, BenWarton III and wife Mireya, Kaitlyn Moll and husband Jeff, Mitchell Davis, Kade Moore and Kyla Moore."DadDad" also adored his great-grandchildren, Logan Moore, Gideon Moore, Garen Moore, Hedda Dennis, Charles Dennis, Ella Moll and Madeline Moll, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.

Willard was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Willard Moore; mother, Ethel Lorene Kennedy and his sister, Lois Faye Cooper.

He was a lifetime faithful member of the Church of Christ and the Kiwanis Club of Abilene, where he devoted countless hours to the famous chili supper and other fund raising activities. He was also a youth sports volunteer coach for his children. A life-long master gardener, Willard continually won yard of the month in every neighborhood lucky enough to have his presence. His children are convinced that aliens abducted their real parents, when after their children left home, Willard and Peggy bought a Honda Gold Wing and traveled North America on many motorcycle adventures. Following his retirement, they continued their couples travels on 63 cruises around the world.

Willard worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakery as a donut maker to fund his Abilene Christian College accounting degree. He retired from West Texas Utilities, where he worked as a property accountant for 34 years. During his long career at WTU, Willard was known for his brilliant math mind, his award-winning wit and his unwavering kindness and commitment to mentoring young colleagues. He will forever hold the title of grand champion of the renowned Lytle Shore company picnic competitions, where he led every single one of his teams to victory in horse shoes, washers and volleyball (with the Reddy Kilowatt hats to prove it!).

Most of all, Willard will be remembered for his constant gentle attention to all. Every place he went, Willie left people feeling happy, special and grateful to have known him. He genuinely sought to model I Corinthians 13, the Love chapter, his favorite scripture. The 83 years, 10 months and 27 days the world held Willard Moore were some of the best in history, because He truly Lived a beautiful life.
