Obituary

William (Bill) Lewis Giles, 81, of Clyde died Thursday, March 7, 2019 in an Abilene hospice center. A graveside service, with military and masonic services, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bill was born March 29, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia to Dayton William and Arlene (Lewis) Giles. He graduated from Duvall High School in West Virginia and attended the University of Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1957. He married Judy Harris in Abilene on May 16, 1959 and they made Clyde their home. Bill was a machinist and small engine repairman and was a member of to the Clyde Masonic Lodge #1056 since 1967.

He is survived by his son George Giles and wife Denise of Aspermont; daughter Juanita Irene (Candi) Oliveira of Tye; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy in 2017, son Ronald William Giles, two brothers and one sister.
